Mission Pie

2901 Mission Street, San Francisco, CA - (415) 282-4PIE
One of San Francisco’s many green businesses, Mission Pie offers employment programs for at-risk youth, who in turn learn to bake the finest pies: fruits, creams, savories, and an amazing Lemon Shaker selection that will instantly convert pie-frowners. Mission Pie is hands down one of the Bay Area’s best bakeries.

We have never seen a banana cream pie have such clearly defined layers as this. Still, an excellent slice of pie.

This generous slice of sweet potato is a wonderful example of this classic pie.

We’re not sure if this Shaker Lemon Pie refers to the Shaker/Amish community (or maybe an Amish recipe), but it is indeed our favorite and a unique must-eat when in the Bay Area.

Banana cream pie may be lighter in the South, but here it is substantial and quite flavorful.

The availability of any pie changes daily, but Mission Pie usually features apple, nut, lemon, and other fruit varieties.

In addition to fruit pies, a full line of savories (chicken or steak pot pies, quiches, galettes, and tarts) rotates every day.
