K. LaMay’s Steamed Cheeseburgers

690 E. Main St., Meriden, CT - (203) 237-8326
The steamed cheeseburger is unique to central Connecticut, and Meriden is home to several purveyors. Kevin LaMay worked at Ted’s as a teenager and now runs his own eatery, cranking out the best steamed burgers in town. Foxon Park bottled sodas and soft-serve from the seasonal stand next door make K. LaMay’s an irresistible stop.

This steamed cheeseburger is bigger, juicier, and more flavorful than the same from Ted’s across town. Bacon adds a crunchy, textural layer to the experience.

Meriden folks are serious about steamed burgers, and it’s the fresh-every-day bun, quality meat, and Wisconsin sharp cheddar that netted this “Best Classic Burger” trophy for Kevin in a local contest.
