Drunken eggs is only a nickname for this dish, as it is formally known as Jorge's black bean cakes and huevos borrachos.  We especially enjoyed the adobo sauce on top.

Dining with the legendary ChiTownDiner means to expect the unexpected.  When our waitress mentioned they had brioche bread pudding with blackberries and peaches available as a dessert, he chose to order it as an appetizer!

The creative Latina omeletta fills the eggs with plum tomatoes, black beans, sour cream, sharp cheddar, plus green and sweet onions and then tops it all with a chipotle sauce.  On the side is plantains and house potatoes.

Butternut Applepecan Hotcakes were a special the morning we visited. The batter includes butternut squash, and between the cakes are apples and maple mascarpone creme. They are crowned with toasted pecans and drizzled with apple cider syrup.

Fannie's Killer Fried Egg Sandwich is a showstopper of over-medium eggs and gorgonzola, with applewood-smoked bacon, tomatoes, and fresh thyme, on toasted sourdough. M. Henry's excellent house potatoes are served alongside.

Exercise caution: Housemade brioche cinnamon roll is made into French toast and then stuffed with seasonal fruit (peaches and cherries today), Neufchatel cream and topped with a granola crust.  This is one monster breakfast!
