Old Country Store - Lorman, MS

Posted by Nolan Hymon on May 04, 2009

Old Country Store is worth the 100+ miles we traveled to get to it. Everything is delicious and well-prepared. "Mr. D," as he is affectionately known, is a gracious host. He really loves to sing about his grandmother; he sang several times while we were there.

His chicken truly is flavorful. It is the second best I have ever had. The taste is unique, not overly seasoned. It is crispy outside and moist and juicy inside. I can't see why he doesn't travel and promote his bird to many convenience stores like the Hunts Pizza people did. He could probably patent his recipe and preparation.

My wife and I actually joked about relocating to Port Gibson, MS just to be closer to the "Best Fried Chicken" ever. Continued success Mr. D.

In true Mississippi grocery/restaurant tradition, little has been done to alter the appearance of Old Country Store.
