Carolina Cider Company

81 Charleston Highway, Yemassee, SC - (843) 846-1899
Posted By Cathy Turner on 6/12/2005 7:34:00 PM
We discovered this place on a drive from Charleston To Savannah a few years ago and we always make a special trip to the Carolina Cider Company on our yearly visit to Charleston.

The ciders are tasty, but it's the jams, jellies, butters and conserves that bring us back. The Sweet Potato Pie butter is just so good, but the Cherry Butter is what scores raves. We buy extras for Christmas gifts and to keep on the shelf. Other favorites are Apple Pie Jelly, (with chunks of apples and raisins with cinnamon and a touch of clove) Mixed Berry Jam and Blueberry Jam.

The jams and jellies all have that home made taste to them and rate above imports from gourmet shops.

Cherry and Muscadine grape cider were featured attractions when we drove by in late September.

On the porch outside the store, these rockers look like an excellent place to sip a jug of cider and snack on boiled peanuts.

We didn't see much more to the town of Yemassee than this cider store. Heading south on Highway 17, it's just before the turnoff for Parris Island.
