We have been visiting Virgilio's for years on vacations to Cape Ann. We often stop there before going to Good Harbor or Wingaersheek Beaches to pick up St. Joseph's sandwiches to eat on the beach. These are some of the best sandwiches I have ever had!

The
"The "St. Joseph" is an elegant submarine sandwich: ribbons of good meats, a spritz of oil, and a hail of spice on an airy roll with tender crust. "

The aroma from inside Virgilio's perfumes the sidewalk outside: fresh-baked bread, garlicky sausage, olive oil, and spice.

In Virgilio's window is a motto we can live with: 'Bread Makes the Sandwich.' In this case, excellent bread is abetted by top-notch cold cuts, oil and spice.
