Being from North Jersey, the mecca of incredible hot dogs, I was weary about having a hot dog from the NC area. After a while of being pressured, I relented and took a trip to Zack's. Lunch consisted of two chili dogs, a dog with ketchup, and a Cheerwine. The hot dogs taste like they may be a beef/pork blend. The chili is nothing overly special, but is tasty and a decent hot dog chili.
Overall, if you are in the Burlington, NC area, check out Zack's. I'm sure most of the locals would rate it higher than me, but being from North Jersey, I have to grade on a curve.
"These Combo dogs, nestled with slices of cheese and a spill of chili in fluffy buns, are always our obsession when driving anywhere near Burlington."

"Cheerwine is sold all over the Carolinas, but it's especially delicious out of a glass bottle at Zack's."

"Zack's doesn't fret over dessert: four varieties of pies, cakes, and honey buns are available at the register."

"Zack's has been attracting hardcore hot dog hounds in central North Carolina since 1928."

"The only reason I got to try one of the cheese dogs was because a friendly local bought one for me. He told me he eats four or five at a time. The wiener is replaced by a small block of cheese and then covered in Zack's delicious chili."
