If you love mac 'n' cheese, this is the place for you. If you don't like mac 'n' cheese, go anyway; this is too good to pass up!

My wife and I saw an item about this on the Travel Channel and my wife, being the mac 'n' cheese lover that she is, told me we were going. I'm not a big mac 'n' cheese fan; I had my fill when I was a kid, but I love my wife, so we went.

The place is tiny, but the smell of quality ingredients hits you in the face as soon as the door opens. They have four sizes, all served in individual cast-iron skillets: Nosh (small around $5), Major Munch (medium around $10.50), Mongo (large around $15) and Partay! (huge around $35). Medium is plenty, trust me.

My wife had the 4 Cheese (cheddar, Muenster, Gruyere, and a touch of pecorino) and I had the Alpine (Gruyere with perfectly fried cubed slab bacon). This may have been the best thing I've ever had in my mouth! It arrived hot and bubbly, topped with buttery bread crumbs. The mac was al dente, the cheese was creamy (and was REAL Gruyere, not the processed crap) and the bacon was crispy, yet tender and smokey, plus they weren't stingy with it.

If there is one drawback to the place, it's that it's tiny, so go during non-peak hours.
