Bishop's Orchards is 320 acres of crops that are available for customers to pick from June (strawberries) to late autumn (apples). If you don't want to pick your own, the Orchard has a great big indoor market where you can select not only strawberries and apples, but lovely pears, blueberries, peaches, raspberries, and pumpkins that are grown on the family farm. The market is open year-around, and when local produce isn't in season, fresh things from elsewhere are available.
We love the homegrown fruit and vegetables you can buy, as well as the apple cider and apple sauce, but we are especially fond of the baked goods. Bishop's makes wicked-good pies, loaf cakes, muffins, breads, and cookies; in the morning, the smell of baking apple pie makes a visit here an olfactory joy ride.
The pick-your-own seasons are as follows:
Mid-June to early July: strawberries
Mid July to early September: blueberries
Mid August to mid-October: raspberries
Mid August to mid-September: peaches
Late August to mid-September: pears
Early September to late October: apples
Mid September to Halloween: pumpkins
