Katonah Restaurant

63 Katonah Ave., Katonah, NY - (914) 232-9241

In the midst of the quaint little village of Katonah is the Katonah Restaurant. Although they call themselves a restaurant it is really more of an upscale diner. The prices are on the high side of normal but it stands out as a relative bargain in pricey Westchester.

Now that Willy Nick's is no longer serving breakfast it is also the only game in town for early morning eats. As an added bonus they have several outside tables if you prefer to dine "al fresco." If you dine inside there is not a bad seat in the house. All are next to large picture windows allowing for some people watching with your meal.

We ate there for breakfast. The food is as good as at any diner if not better. We ordered the typical fare of omelets and hash browns and corned beef hash. Although nothing was outstanding, neither was I disappointed. They also have some not-as-common items on the menu, such as blueberry blintzes, which were fresh and served with a side of sour cream and applesauce. Make a point of ordering an egg cream - they put in the perfect amount of syrup and serve it up with a frothy head.
