I've been to Harry's twice now. The first time was awesome, but after the treatment I had this evening I definitely won't back!

After 20 minutes, I had to go to the bar to get my own water. My margarita sat on the bar that entire time while the ice melted into the drink (we could see it from our table but were unsure if it was ours until we saw our waiter finally grab it and take it to us).

My order was wrong and my husband was finished eating before they brought out my correct order. I told the waiter to forget it, but they brought it out anyway. They charged me for it, so I had to put it in a to-go box since we were ready to leave. I've never left a restaurant without eating, especially after driving 35 minutes to get there. They totally ruined our night. I won't be back!

I had been reading about this place before our trip out west, so we made it a point to try Harry's.

I'm forever grateful that we did! Simply the most wonderful meal we have ever had the pleasure of eating! We went on a weekday evening, so the wait was short. Were seated on the gorgeous patio, grapevines bearing ripe fruit were hanging next to our table, & we were encouraged to sample them!

The margaritas are stellar- they're served in individual shaker cups, with the perfect amount of salt.

I opted for the crabcakes, which were so delicious that I actually moaned while eating them!

My brother went with the smoked turkey enchiladas. We ended up fighting over the plate!! I've since tried to re-creat these gems with little success. Wish I had known about the cookbook- I would have bought several, for gifts.

The desserts are the perfect ending- I had a giant chocolate cupcake with white chocolate ganache- my brother had the blueberry pie. Both were memorable.

I think of this place all the time!! If I win the lottery, I will fly to Santa Fe every month for the rest of my life, & yes... head straight to Harry's!!

The problem with Harry's is that everything is good; we never know what we want to order. We have eaten there many times, we keep trying new items, and have never been disappointed.

Here are some of our favorites. The cinnamon rolls, mentioned by others many times: they are some of the best I have ever eaten. The breakfast burrito may be the best in Santa Fe. The eggs are always perfectly done and they are smothered in excellent green chile of medium piquancy. The succulent eight-ounce green chile cheeseburger, with fresh beef grilled exactly as ordered, the cheese melted over the burger, and roasted green chile in abundance, is exceeded only by that of Bobcat Bite in Santa Fe. The accompanying French fries are made from scratch and are excellent. In the evening we often opt for their specials and, again, we have never been disappointed, as they are predictably "special."

One of our favorite things to do in the summertime is to sit in the back patio under a gorgeous New Mexico sky in the late afternoon with any one of Harry's several excellent margaritas. We add their chips and salsa, always fresh, piquant and delicious, and just sit back and smile.

Harry's is definitely the place for locals to meet. Visitors too. Harry is usually there, and he knows NM food and East Coast specials. I, a native of Baltimore, had one of the best Maryland blue crab cakes at Harry's.

Any dessert Peyton (Harry's wife) puts her thumb in is marvelous. You will NEVER find a better chocolate cream pie anywhere than at Harry's. Great meals abound. Turkey enchiladas! Breakfast is wonderful.

And you know what? The staff is wonderful too. Guaranteed, if you live in Santa Fe, you will become addicted to Harry's. Everything on their menu and all of their specials are just that: special. One of the best places to eat in Santa Fe, NM. I'm glad I didn't have to drive a hundred miles, only seven. We've NEVER had a bad meal or experience at Harry's.

I went to Santa Fe for work. My group avoided the chain places like the plague. We ate plenty of incredible food at some of the local places. Everybody kept asking if we had been to Harry's yet. We got to Santa Fe on a Monday, and by Friday afternoon as we're packing to leave, everybody in the office tells us, nay orders us, to go to Harry's for our last night in town. So we did. Just as the name on the door implies, it is an authentic roadhouse and, yes, Harry is in the kitchen.

To say the food is sublime is to do Harry and his food a grave injustice. The pulled pork is incredibly smoky, juicy, barbeque-ee, and tender, with just the right amount of chew. Oh, I wish I could only make BBQ one-tenth as well. The desserts are all made in their kitchen and could not be any fresher. The blueberry pie is probably the best blueberry pie I have ever eaten. The crust is amazingly flaky, and the blueberries are plump and juicy, and not swimming in gloopy blue stuff.

The staff was incredibly accomodating. Harry's is a real joint that serves real food. If only all the chains would just dry up so Harry's could flourish in their place. In conclusion, I am planning to take my wife to Santa Fe just to try Harry's. So I would not only drive 100 miles to go there, I am flying 2500 to go there!

PS: Harry also sells a cookbook with recipes for some of the best sellers. He will sign it for you. It is worth it's weight in gold, platinum and diamonds. Every recipe works just right.

Harry's Roadhouse is exactly what its name implies, but it is so much more than a place to have great margaritas. On this visit, we were there for breakfast following our weekly visit to the Santa Fe Farmers' Market. Often, there is a bit of a wait for a table (you won't be seated until everyone in your party is there). However, on this Saturday we were seated promptly and our much-needed caffeine was speedily delivered by our polite and efficient waitress.

We started this meal with one of Peyton's amazing cinnamon rolls. These are served on Saturday and Sunday mornings only. What a treat! It's always too much with whatever you ordered for breakfast, but they are impossible to resist.

One member of our party ordered "Huevos Divorciados", which consists of two corn torillas with two eggs cooked anyway you like. One tortilla holds two grilled shrimp and creamy tomatillo salsa, cotija and avocado; the other, pasilla salsa and queso fresco. This is served with refried black beans and a flour tortilla. She declared it to be excellent and the several tastes I had confirmed this assessment.

I ordered brioche stuffed with peaches and mascarpone, topped with powdered sugar and raspberry puree. I almost swooned for a moment after the first bite. It looked beautiful on the plate and tasted even better than it looked. The creamy mascarpone with the sweet peaches and the crisp, delicate brioche was just perfect.

The last item we enjoyed on this day: "Lemon Ricotta Pancakes." (I say we because everyone shared everyone else's dishes. My partner and I have a long-standing practice of treating every restaurant as if it were a Chinese restaurant.) These were light as the proverbial feather and delicately flavored. Our guest had no problem scarfing down every bite.

Harry's is a short distance from the Old Pecos Trail exit from I-25 and well worth the trip. Lunch and dinner are equally good. You will find Harry's filled with locals and travelers at every time of day.
