RD's Drive-In

146 North Lake Powell Boulevard, Page, AZ -
Posted By Anne Ritchings on August 21, 2007 11:24 PM
We left our hotel on Lake Powell in the morning, very hungry and in search of breakfast. We cruised one of the main drags in nearby Page and found RD's just as it was opening at 9 a.m.

While the menu didn't contain anything we would normally call breakfast, we were delighted to see lunch items that spoke to us. I ordered a green chile cheeseburger, which was served on a toasted bun slathered with mayonnaise and whole green strips of chile (instead of the usual chopped chile). The other adult in our party ordered the chile size, which is an open-faced burger covered in chile and onions. It must have been given its name because its size is BIG. One of the kids ordered mozzarella sticks with pizza sauce and the other, chile cheese fries. The fries were especially good; hot and crisp.

Hunger is the best sauce and we loved our food. All of it was prepared to order and arrived at our table piping hot and good. The chocolate shake was thick enough to hold up a spoon and had a deep chocolate taste. RD's is open from 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the evening which is probably pretty late for Page. The service is pleasant and fairly speedy. All in all, a satisfactory stop for Roadfood.
