Gisiano's

While at the Hudson Valley Garlic Festival, we asked locals where to eat. Gisiano's, on Main Street, just off NY-32, was highly recommended. As we entered, a couple on their way out noted how good everything was. Because of the garlic festival, the restaurant was busy, yet the servers were quick and friendly.

While our party of four dined, there was a large party was being served in the banquet area. We were seated next to the "Fun Room," a room with toys for kids, coloring books, and lots of crayons and markers. This is an area for kids of all ages to let loose. They are encouraged to write on the wall.

The food is phenomenal. The appetizers are nicely plated. Each dinner is served with a little extra not mentioned on the menu -- seasonal vegetables (in our case, a variety of squash). We also enjoyed the large, family-sized Italian salad. None of us were disappointed with any of our food.

It's truly a family business. The owner, who had spent all day at the garlic festival, was at his restaurant greeting everyone, and checking to make sure that all of the food was prepared as requested, and enjoyed. The owner's son stopped by to check on us also.

The restaurant was fun. The staff was friendly. The food was delicious.
