Hunt's Seafood & Oyster Bar

While on a Roadfood quest in Southern Alabama we stopped for a seafood dinner at Hunt's on the South side of Dothan. Located on the US 231 Bypass on the way to Shore points, Hunts is easy to find and convenient to the traveler heading south to the Beaches.

Fresh local Oysters are the high point of the menu, whether raw on the half-shell, or baked or broiled with toppings added, they are the freshest and best we have enjoyed anywhere. The Shrimp and Crab Claws are also topnotch. We started our meal with a dozen raw for me and a dozen baked with cheese and bacon bits for Janet. Outstanding flavor and freshness was evident. We added a sampler of Crab Claws and found them to be breaded "just right" and sweet to the taste. For Dinner, we continued the same theme. The Shrimp and Oyster Plates featured lightly bread seafood with the usual French Fries and a cup of Cole Slaw.

Our server kept the Sweet Tea coming throughout the meal and treated us like visiting relatives, which made the evening even more pleasurable.
