Three of us ate lunch at the Maine Fish Market on a rainy day in mid-May. It was a delicious experience, and satisfied my seafood cravings.
We started by sharing an appetizer of whole-belly clams which were crispy on the outside sweet and briny on the inside; not overcooked or rubbery, and darn near perfect. Hubs and I both ordered the pricey lobster roll which was fabulous: nothing but huge chunks of perfectly cooked sweet lobster lightly dressed with a little mayo. The only drawback: the roll was nothing special, and wasn't toasted or buttered, so I pretty much didn't bother eating the roll. Our friend had salmon, which looked gorgeous, was perfectly cooked, not raw or overdone, and she said it was delicious.
Although I know there are lots of wonderful, less expensive joints "down the shore" only 90 minutes away, we didn't have the three hours round-trip time to kill, and this was great, exactly what we wanted to eat, and we didn't mind spending a few dollars more to have a dry place to sit, given how hard it was raining...
I would definitely go back here.
