Born and raised in Santa Barbara and Brophy's is THE place to go, all locals know about this one! Clam chowder is delicious with sourdough bread for dipping. You MUST try the baked clams as well, cooked to perfection - you will dream about them, oh so good!! Forget the table and grab a seat at the bar, you will be seated on prime real estate - overlooking the marina with the S.B. riviera as your backdrop!

I found Brophy Brothers on Santa Barbara's website under the category for best seafood and clam chowder. I have had excellent clam chowder previously, but this was the best I have ever had thus far. You can have the chowder as a meal in itself, or as an appetizer.

The restaurant has both upstairs and downstairs dining. Upstairs is their general dining area, with a great view of the Santa Barbara Harbor. Downstairs is more of a bar. Normally the upstairs dining area has a wait, so if you don't mind waiting, the bar is just as nice.

Although I highly recommend their clam chowder, the menu does contain many other items, ranging from freshly caught fish to burgers and fries. Everything is made-to-order.
