$33.50 for one beef rib and two side choices is really on the steep side considering what you can get for that much or a little more in so many other restaurants in NYC, please. I've had the Rib Plate Special and it was decent. Not all the Rib cuts are the same so one can get a smaller rib and still pay the premium price especially when the ambiance is more akin to a backyard BBQ.

More bang for your buck I can enjoy soooo much more at a Brazilian Churrascaria restaurant for a little more cost, which is all you can eat that includes multiple cuts of awesome rotiserie BBQ meat (beef, pork, chicken and lamb).

Pricing REALLY needs to be reduced.

I've been frequenting Adam Perry Lang's BBQ cart ever since he put it on the streets of Gotham in 2004 and I've been blown away by the chili every single time. The BBQ is okay, but the chili is some of the best I have ever tasted! This is a reason for me to get up in the morning: thick, rich, spicy, luscious, and lots of fall-apart chunks of beef in there. No beans or ground beef in this one. I am so utterly happy every time I eat it.

Shredded cheese, red onion, and sour cream come on the side. I usually eat the first few spoonfuls without the condiments, then as the creeping heat starts getting to me, I add them in. They are a welcome addition and don't take away from the flavor at all. The flour tortilla provided for dunking is a perfect vehicle for scooping up a hunk of beef, making for a mini chili sandwich.

I'm not in the habit of writing reviews based on only having tried one menu item and, at $7, some might find the price a bit steep. However, I really feel that this is a place worthy of a special trip for the chili alone. I always finish my last spoonful feeling completely satisfied that it was money well spent.

FYI: the cart is usually open Monday to Friday from 11 am to 3 pm, but I STRONGLY recommend calling ahead, as weather, and commitments at their Westside restaurant, sometimes don't allow for the cart to open on some days.
