Directly off I-84 sets a little place named The Mt Cobb Family Restaurant. I knew after my first breakfast it was going to be a favorite of mine. Great food, friendly service, and almost entirely run by the same family.

Pancakes are sold per pancake and, at first, the thought of two dollars each scared me, but when we got them delivered they covered the whole plate, topped with butter, maple syrup on the side. They're made from an old family recipe and they are outstanding.

On my second visit I had the two-egg sandwich with sausage and cheese on a grilled hard roll. This I would recomend to anyone. The eggs are made to your order (I like mine over easy). A choice of sausage, bacon, or ham is available and, at $3.75 a pop, it's a good value. Bacon is also cooked the way you request and they do know the difference between crispy and not.

After many trips I would happily suggest anything on the menu. And please don't forget: the coffee mug is bottomless. Actually we were so impressed we made a point of returning there for lunch. Again, everything we ordered was wonderful. I enjoyed a meatball sub with cheese. Another at the table had a cheeseburger: juicy, good-tasting, and done just right. My grandson had a steak and cheese hoagie and loved it, but he really dug into the chile fries, which I must admit were quite good.

So whether it's breakfast or lunch I would suggest this be one stop you make.
