Bumpin' Buffalo

245 Main Street, Hill City, SD - (605) 574-4100

Hi from Georgia. We tried Bumpin' Buffalo this summer while visiting the local attractions after a fellow traveler recommended it to us. I would not recommend it to anyone.

We had very ordinary bar food (a tasteless burger and a limp sandwich) and bad service. With only two other tables occupied, late in the lunch service, our server took our order and disappeared. I had to go downstairs to find someone to ask about our lunch. 45 minutes seemed a little much to me. This place seems to be a bar for the yuppie biker crowd.

My husband and I read about Bumpin' Buffalo Bar and Grill on somebody's blog. When we read that they went back for a second Buffalo burger at this place, we decided we would give it a try on our visit to Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and Deadwood. The blogger had the name incorrect and we had to contact the Chamber of Commerce in Hill City to find it, but it was well worth the trouble. Now we want others to find Bumpin' Buffalo without the trouble.

We had their Buffalo burger and onion rings and the lunch was delicious. The burger was tender and very lean. I am one of those "grease soppers" and I didn't even have to ask for extra napkins.

I would highly recommend lunch or dinner at the Bumpin' Buffalo in Hill City, SD. It is close to all the major attractions and their staff is very friendly and upbeat. I even remembered to take a photo of our meal to submit to Roadfood.com! Hope everyone enjoys this place.
