Fabulous food from a friendly face! My husband and I visit the Luau Grill and are pleased everytime. While he loves the pulled pork, I can't get enough of the beef brisket! From Roger's hand smoked meats to his homemade BBQ sauces, sides and desserts the result is nothing short of delicious!
Not only that, you'll be served with a sincere smile. In a time where every dollar is carefully budgeted and our local economies desperately needs support, the Luau Grill is the type of establishment worth supporting. You'll get your dollar's worth and know you're investing in an honest local eatery.
Don't miss the Luau Grill!

We've known the owner for many years and he's always been an excellent cook and more importantly to us, an honest man.

We've eaten several of his items but most recently had the Pulled Pork Nachos, and I must admit I was a bit skeptical at first. Not anymore. It was delicious and the serving size is adequate for even the larger appetites.

Stop in and give it a try. You'll love it.

Great "out of the way" place! It sits off of Morton Ave., but you will make a mistake if you pass it by, on the way to another franchise restaurant in Jville. We had the Huli Huli chicken(very moist, great taste),Kalua Pork Nachos( a mountain of nachos-how does he make any money on this!), Smoked link sandwich(great smoky taste and snapped when you bit into the link) and the brisket sandwich ( great flavor). All of them were fantastic! There was not one speck left on our plates. He has his own BBQ sauce which is a little sweet, but just the right amount to enhance the BBQ. I had the Baked beans and mac and cheddar salad as my sides and they were fresh and great taste. Since it is a smaller place, I was worried about Roger accepting debit cards. No worry, cash or card, Roger is prepared to serve you some great food. I will be back!

Tucked away in Jacksonville, IL, just about 40 miles West of Springfield -home of the Horseshoe Sandwich is the Luau Grill where the pork, chicken, and links are tended by proprietor Roger Davis in his smokers just outside the kitchen door. This is BBQ with a Hawaiian tilt, from the Huli Huli chicken to the Big Kahiki (incredible baked & stuffed potato), to the Kalua pork Nachos and we've not even gotten to the moist and smoky pulled pork, the not too tender ribs, or the brisket (possibly the best restaurant brisket I've ever enjoyed). Seating is fair weather only, as it is outside, but there is a drive by window and you can call your order in, so it will be ready when you arrive. There isn't much room at the order counter, but if it's slow, you can stand there, enjoy your BBQ, and talk BBQ with Roger. I have eaten here several times and have yet to be disappointed. The food is very good and reasonably priced.
