Gray's Ice Cream - Tiverton, RI

Gray's is a Rhode Island favorite, its ice cream is grand and dignified. The myriad flavors are simple and comprehensible, including all the usuals, plus New England favorites Grape-Nuts and frozen pudding. Note especially ginger ice cream, made from real ginger root, flecks of which dot the creamy white custard.

Gray's order windows uncharacteristically uncrowded. That's because this picture was taken at 11am. By evening, on a nice summer night, there are long lines.

An old-fashioned carved wood sign marks an old-fashioned ice cream parlor ... with some of the best ice cream in New England.
