The James Gallery & Soda Fountain

2 Pennywise Lane, Old Saybrook, CT - (860) 395-1229
Part of the National Historic Register and Connecticut Freedom Trail, the building itself dates back to 1790 when it was originally part of the Humphrey Pratt Tavern, where the Marquis de Lafayette stayed and also made a purchase in 1824. Aside from the art gallery and gift shop, the original 1896 soda fountain serves old-fashioned sodas (egg creams and black cows for starters) and ice cream favorites.
