Chez Lenard

Main St., Ridgefield, CT - (203) 431-6324
Chez Lenard is a sidewalk cart on Main Street with no address and no phone. The wieners are slim, all-beef franks with a natural casing, substantial enough that a pair of Supremes (with mustard, relish, ketchup, and chopped onions) with a can of Dr. Brown's soda make an immensely satisfying meal.

Chez Lenard's hot dog supreme is topped with mustard (brown or yellow), relish (hot or not), a sprinkle of chopped red onions and -- yes -- a line of ketchup. Even though I am from Chicago, I love it, ketchup and all!

That's a spicy hot dog, but not TOO spicy. In fact, the horseradish sauce is a beautiful foil for a hot dog that is itself fairly gentle-tempered. Note the way the natural casing is bunched up at the end.
