Young's Jersey Dairy

6880 Springfield Xenia Rd, Yellow Springs, OH - (937) 325-0629
Using ice cream and milk from their own farm, Young’s blends regular shakes and extra-thick shakes (spoon required), as well as bullshakes that are extra-large, extra-thick, and come with one additional scoop of ice cream floating on top. There are exotic flavors galore, but give us a vanilla or chocolate shake every time, preferably with plenty of malt powder added.

"Where Young's really shines is the homemade ice cream. Without a doubt this is about as fresh as ice cream will get, as they get the milk from the cows that are on the farm. The ice cream is not overly rich and is super-creamy, which is a bonus, as I am of the ..."   [Read More]

Being in Ohio, I couldn't resist the Buckeye sundae. This is chocolate peanut butter ice cream, hot fudge, a buckeye candy, whipped cream and, instead of nuts and a cherry, you get Reese's Pieces.

As part of Young's 141st anniversary celebration, they offered a three scoop sundae, with three sauces for three bucks. And you got to keep the glass!

What I like best about Young's excellent ice cream is that it is never too sweet or too soft. Here is a scoop of black raspberry on top of a scoop of peaches & cream.

If we lived anywhere near Young's, we'd have our freezer stocked with this good ice cream. As it is, we can enjoy it only in passing, by the cone, cup, sundae, soda, and milk shake.

The thickest of Young's milkshakes will not travel through a straw.

Young's has been an essential milk-shake-stop since it opened in 1968.
