I have numerous types of beverages made from corn but never corn cob wine. East TN most famous and notorious distiller of corn liquor was Popcorn Sutton who made moonshine for many years. He was finally convicted at a old age and the day before he was to enter prison, he committed suicide rather that go to prison. His funeral was huge and attended by better than a 1000 including Hank Williams Jr. His moonshine which was sold illegally for $5.00 a pint now sells legally at stores for $32.00 a fifth.

I, too, have had dandelion wine, made by Bob's grandfather. Pretty potent stuff....as i recall.

I've had Corn Cob Jelly, but no Corn Cob Wine. I have had Dandelion Wine which I bet you partook of in your Knox County days.

That recipe sounds VERY good, I brew beer so this is right up my alley, thanks! One thing I'd do differently than the recipe, if you are so inclined, is to use a vessel that can be sealed and use an airlock. If you get bad yeast in their from the air, it's a crap shoot. It may be a good variety that actually adds good flavor, or it may give it an off taste to downright putrid! That's also why when brewing beer, sanitation is KEY.
