Farmer Browns in Waterloo NE makes the top 21 "Thrillist"

As many of you know, I always like to pat myself on the back.

Well another one of my finds, Farmer Brown's Steakhouse in Waterloo NE made the top 21 along with the other "regulars"

Actually, that is one of the better 'lists of best steakhouses' I've ever seen.

Since Farmer Brown's is on the list I can certainly agree with you. Definitely the best Prime Rib I've ever had.

Too bad there was not a picture of the prime rib, or at least one of their steaks!

Sorry if this comes across as being a nag WJ, but Farmer Brown's sounds like an excellent candidate for a review!

Speaking of Nebraska steak houses...this is my go to stop in Valentine on the way back from my annual Rocky Mountain road trip. Top 10 of any steaks I've ever had and that includes Luger's (Williamsburg) and Bern's (Tampa).

I still don't get the love for St. Elmo's. Maybe I was just there on an off night, but it was certainly not in my top steak experiences of all time.

TTM:  I am with you there.  I have been there several times.  It was extremely crowded, tables way too close and the steak just slightly above average.

I agree with one of the commenters that the omission of Gene and Georgetti in Chicago seems strange.  I'm actually not familiar with most of the other Chicago places they listed, so maybe they are better, but we loved the place when we ate there last Fall.
Murray's -- I've had mixed experiences there.  It used to be the quintessential upscale Midwestern supper club -- a little old fashioned, but great fun.  I always took out of town guest speakers there because it was open late with a full menu, and even sophisticated New Yorkers thought it was fabulous.  But then they remodeled it and the atmosphere has become less distinctive. The steaks are still good, but it's just not the same.
