Polar Georgia Peach soda water. Polar brand is easy to find in the northeast, but the Georgia Peach flavor is not.

Chill it, and fill a glass 3/4 full, add a splash of wine and some frozen peach slices. If serving it to guests, a fresh strawberry with the green cap still on, adds some color.

WalMart Extra Fluffy pancake/waffle mix. It is often out of stock. The kid putting it on the shelf said that restaurants must buy it because folks buy 10 boxes at a time. The Buttermilk mix next to it is never out of stock, and IMO, not very good.

Goretti (my home town independent supermarket) store made Italian sweet sausage.

                  I miss Park's sausage.

Marie Callander frozen pies. I know that they have been taken over by ConAgra, and they are not as good as home made, but they are better than a lot of bakery pies.

Polar is my favorite brand of seltzer. I usually drink plain seltzer but I've tried the blueberry & it was good.

I love my new Pogo Whisk. I never noticed it before & it was discounted 75% & cost $3.74. I didn't have very high-expectations for it...but it does a great job compared to a regular whisk. It's well-constructed...manual (operates like a pogo stick) & fast as hell....

Where did you find the whisk, CC?  Is the tine assembly fixed in place or is it somehow spring-loaded?

Costco's Kirkland brand Ice Cream....Chris Santos, the "Chopped" Judge, has been in here a few times said to me"where did you get that Ice Cream, it's some of the best I've ever had", when I told him, he couldn't believe it!

I absolutely could not cook without tongs!  Preferably the "Edlund" brand.......they're heavy duty and made for restaurant use.

For minced garlic, this works REALLY well. Easy to clean, too.

Now I gotta talk about my Pogo Whisk! Thank you very much....

It was on sale @ Rite-Aid.

The spring is in the handle & the merry-go-round is in one piece. It set on a tip...

                                  Egg whites in 45 seconds...

No splash or splatter. So much better than taking out the hand mixer & 4x faster than a regular whisk. Hardly any pressure needed to get to beatin'.

Now I'll go say the rosary....

I still shake my Shake Weight...

Cuisinart Griddler ($59 at Sam's or Costco):

Lexus:  reliable, comfortable, quiet, safe, & powerful.

And, due to their high resale, they are relatively inexpensive to lease, i.e., a $50,000 Lexus product leases for about the same as a $30,000 'domestic'.

I reported on this in another thread, Another Saturday, Another Pizza - PICS, but this was my Christmas present that I am having fun with. So far it is working as advertised. Actually better than I had expected. It is a Breville Crispy Crust Pizza Maker.

I remember reading that the best way to decide on a car is to look at lease rates. I hear ads talk about "projected resale value", but they put their money where their mouth is when they set a residual value for a lease. Even if you plan to buy, rather than lease, the car with the best lease rates is a better bet on resale value. I read a devastating review on the new Chrysler 200 today. I wonder how it's lease rate will compare to a Camry??

Lexus:  reliable, comfortable, quiet, safe, & powerful.

And, due to their high resale, they are relatively inexpensive to lease, i.e., a $50,000 Lexus product leases for about the same as a $30,000 'domestic'.

Over the years I've tried every means of having a vehicle from paying cash for a used Eldorado and putting another 100K on it until it died, to a 5 year loan on a new Volvo Bertone Coupe and putting 300,000 miles on it over 14 years to leasing new Lexus' every three or four years.

Truly, the latter has been the most anxiety-free and not appreciably more expensive than the other 'methods' which involve new tires, on going regular maintenance, the occasional tow, and expensive, unpredictable repairs.  And, the leased vehicle is always under a new car warranty:  any problem is 'not yours' (including wrecks' killing resale value).

And, with Lexus, every now and then (if you time it right) you can hit a home run on the exchange.  I leased a 2010 RX for my wife in July, 2009; 45 months later its trade value (as a 'three year old' model) was $9,000 more than the residual!  On the exchange for the 2013 we walked away with a new RX, a lower payment, and a check for $6,000.

If I really wanted to pinch a penny I'd do a zero down lease on a Camry, drive it for three years to make sure it was a 'good one', pay the residual, use Mobil One, and drive it until the wheels come off in 300K or so.

WalMart Extra Fluffy pancake/waffle mix. It is often out of stock. The kid putting it on the shelf said that restaurants must buy it because folks buy 10 boxes at a time. The Buttermilk mix next to it is never out of stock, and IMO, not very good.

I have yet to find a store-bought pizza that even comes close to my own from scratch....and....sadly............the same can be true of a lot of the local joints too, these days.  My local Walmart does not have food.  So I guess I'm SoL
