I have to go there all the time for work.  I wouldn't bother going there deliberately.  :)

I live in Jersey, but honestly - this is to the original poster - please mention the state when you post, unless it's already mentioned in the thread title. Not everybody knows where Toms River is, or even Ocean County.

                Thanks.

I'm actually not trying to diss Toms River, but I've found it to be a little unexciting food-wise.  I'd love recommendations, if you had them!

You're right there ,Kaz, Gourmet it's not.......I assume you've tried Rivoli's on Fischer blvd,,,now that The Jersey Shore group doesn't go there much for their Italian fix,it's good to go again,,,Real good Italian...and GIANT portions!!Tuscan House on Hooper Ave across from the Mall is also good...decent steaks...and they have a wood fired oven for some great sishes.

Thank you; at least I'm not the only one who complains about that (although I get especially annoyed when the front page writers do that).

I agree with the general consensus here that Tom's River doesn't have much to offer, food wise.

Except that there's Ob-Co Donuts. I'm not even a big donut fan, but if I'm in that area I will make the 15 minute side-trip from the Parkway if it's early enough and they haven't sold out yet.

Ooooh, I'm getting donuts next time.  Thanks.
