I've been told I'm the only human in the universe who not only has never tasted a Twinkie, but has no desire to ever do so.

If you read the article you will find your beloved devil dogs and yodels were bought by Little Debbie and should also be back out on the shelf

I guess I'm the 2nd person in the universe.  Never tasted a Twinkie. Always thought they seemed repulsive. When I was in 7th grade my locker partner's father drove a Hostess truck and she had ALL the Hostess treats for free in her lunch. I ate  many but couldn't bring myself to eat a twinkie.

I like Twinkies and i'm glad they are back. The world was shallow and dark in their absence.

Seriously though, I bet those people that shelled out all that cash for the last boxes and packs are feeling a little dumber right now.

I haven't had Twinkies in years. About a decade or so ago, I discovered that Little Debbie snacks, in many cases tasted better than their Hostess/Drakes counterparts, and, also in many but not all cases, their ingredients were pretty decent (although I always read the label for the exceptions). The problem is when you look at how much sugar there is in those things, and you can only buy them by the box. They are so inexpensive, though, that you can eat them in small doses and throw away the rest.

They're still on the shelves in Canada and listed on eBay.

Walmart rolled out their Twinkie reintroduction early, so when I walked into the store this morning, there was a large display sitting right up front.  I bought a box of Twinkies and a box of Chocolate Cupcakes.

My granddaughter and I opened them tonight and we were both disappointed. First, they seem like they're at least 10-15% smaller.  Second, both the Twinkies and the cupcakes have a slight hint of a bitter taste. I wonder if maybe it's the preservative they're using to increase the shelf life.

The next time we buy either type of these products, we'll probably stick to Little Debbie.

Was wondering how the reborn items would taste. I plan on buying some cupcakes for Bob-thanks for your assessment, jman.

Krogers yesterday had Sara Lee brand cupcakes and "twinkies" looked good, but I was only there to get milk.

Got a box (the one marked "first batch") at my local WM here in north Florida on
Tuesday night.  Glad to see them back, as the only "substitute" I tried was
Tastykake's "Dreamkakes" -- went thru 1/2 box & that was enough.

I'm not a Twinkie fan, but I used to find Little Debbie cakes to be generally as good or better than Hostess/Drakes.

Back in the late 60's Twinkies made banana Twinkies made with real bananas and it was better than the original.  A few years ago they came out with "artificially flavored" Banana Twinkies, tasted nothing like the ones I knew.  Very disappointed.
